Chief of forestry and forestry yield research, Quebec Ministry of Forests, Wildlife and Parks - Canadian Council of Forest Ministers

Dr. Jean-Pierre Saucier is a forest engineer, and holds a BA (1984) and an MA from the University of Laval, Quebec (1992) in forest management and forestry and a Ph.D. in Forest Science from the Ecole Nationale du Genie Rural des Eaux et Forestry Nancy, France (1997). Dr. Saucier has been employed by the Ministry of Forests, Wildlife and Parks of Quebec since 1985. He is now acting in the Forest Research Branch as Chief of forestry and forest yield. As part of his work, he coordinates the work of 17 researchers in the fields of silviculture of plantations and natural forests, forest work and modeling of forest growth. His work experience covers the fields of ecological land classification, forest ecology applied to forestry and forests growth and yield modeling.
